Bridal Couture Week, Concluded On A High Note Of Fashion Forward Bridal Trends

The three-day bridal extravaganza Pantene HUM Bridal Couture Week 20 by HUM Network Limited concluded with some forward, contemporary and invogue bridal trends, following all government issued SOPs and covid19 protocols. The final day also witnessed legendary Arif Lohar, Sonya Hussayn, Azfar Rehman and other celebrities on the ramp as showstoppers and a special performance by Azaan Sami Khan on song Main Tera from his debut album by the same title.

Show One on Day Three of the bridal extravaganza kicked off with the designer extraordinaire Ali Xeeshan’s Numaish. His collection was a pledge against the old-age tradition of dowry and an effort to educate today’s youth to say no to dowry, followed by Sable Vogue Atelier’s Mussarat Sultana featuring exquisitely handcrafted renaissance pieces that were cut to perfection and intricately detailed in Swarovski, zari, tilla, marori, hand-worked pearls and Mukesh. Next in line was Jermyn Street’s Shab-e-Vasl which was a fine blend of sequins, pearls, tilla, zardozi, dabka and embroidery. Each piece of this collection was crafted to perfection and tailored to class, followed by Ayesha & Usman’s Riwaayat showcasing a harmonious blend of beloved tradition and timeless stories. Show One of PHBCW concluded with One of Pakistan’s rising fashion brands, Nisa Hussain’s debut bridal collection. Her collection reflected the brand’s take on traditional subcontinental bridal wear, infused with the designer’s signature silhouettes and embellishments.Set in rich, luxurious materials and embellishments, the collection had a diverse colour palette ranging from neutrals to red.

 

Show Two commenced with the Grand Couturiers’ segment featuring bridal dresses by Pakistan’s most loved designers Amir Adnan, Mahgul, Sania Maskatiya, Rizwan Beyg, Nilofer Shahid, Faiza Samee, Zara Shahjahan, Elan, HSY, Omer Farooq by Republic and Sana Safinaz. Highlight of the segment was Azaan Sami Khan’s performance on his song Main Tera from his debut album by the same title, which is set to release under HUM Music on February 10, 2021. Next was a special performance by the gorgeous Amar Khan and Hammad Shoaib on The Wedding Song of the Year by Telenor. Ahsan’s Menswear was next to showcase his collection River which was a culmination of bespoke fabric, prints and the designer’s master craftsmanship.The Pantene HUM Bridal Couture Week 2020 came to an end with Zaha Couture’s Rashk-e-Qamar. The inimitable Khadijah Shah brought her signature design flair and opulent finesse to Zaha’s luxurious debut bridal collection. Every piece of her collection was an ode to our rich heritage and the beauty of love itself.

Day Three of the three-day bridal extravaganza also had a brilliant line-up of celebrities walking for the designers – the dashing Muneeb Butt and Shahveer Jafry showstopped for Jermyn Street, while the gorgeous Zubab Rana graced the ramp for Ayesha & Usman. The legendary Arif Lohar performed for Nisa Hssain, whereas the evergreen Resham and the beautiful Hareem Farooq walked for the brand. The charming Azfar Rehman showstopped for Ahsan’s Menswear and the finale for the day by Zaha Couture featured the sensational Sonya Hussayn as showstopper.

Tagline: A pledge against the old-age tradition of Dowry

Ali Xeeshan presents his latest collection “Numaish” for Hum Bridal Couture Week 2021. This time he is trying to make a dialogue with the masses on a deep-rooted dilemma-dowry (Jahez). The campaign sheds light on the epochal and alarming issue of families fretting over saving money for their daughters’ dowry instead of their education that is by far more important.

Therefore, Ali Xeeshan has taken upon himself to take a stand against this hapless practice rampant in our society spreading awareness about this superfluous menace spoiling the lives of millions. His new collection aims to educate today’s youth to pledge that we will say no to dowry.

The collection features a wide range of couture pieces of menswear and womenswear ranging from bridals to formals with a mix of elegance and drama. Ali Xeeshan’s main objective is to showcase his unique masterful craftsmanship along with fulfilling his corporate social responsibility.

After successfully adhering to strict COVID19 SOPs and presenting a glamorous showcase on Day One, Day Two of the bridal extravaganza continued on the same line of glamour, glitz and bridal statements. As always PHBCW left its audience stunned with its majestic stage, uniquely set for one of a kind fashion show.

Show One on Day Two of the bridal extravaganza kicked off withThe House of Arsalan Iqbal’sMata-e -Jaan (Sweetheart) Ceremonial which was inspired by the 11th century Muslim culture of Granada, followed by Ayesha Rehman’s Peony Dreams. Her collection incorporated timeless styles with modern cuts and applications.The next showcasewas byKarismash by Ahson Shoaib with hisDastaan-e-Mohabbatcollection whichwas based on the endless tales and endeavours of love and pain. The colour palette ranged from rustic tones to royal reds encompassing the true shades of love. Show One of Day Two came to a close with Tabya’s Khaas-Mahal. Her collection was a tribute to our diverse heritage from the Mughal Era and the artisans that have preserved the treasures of the craftsmanship for generations to come.

 

Show Two started with the debutant Kashee’s collectionParihaan with beautiful patterns of embroidery, embellishments and motifs. This was followed by a special segment titled The Gentlemen’s Club featuring capsule collections of J., Almirah and Diner’s. Day Two of PHBCW came to an end withUmsha by Uzma Babar’s Zeenat which embodied the poise, regality and grace a bride of today possesses. Her collection encompassed all the qualities, colours and festivities that come with the wedding season in Pakistan,

Day two of the three-day bridal extravaganza had an amazing line up of celebrities walking for the designers – ace designer Munib Nawaz walked the ramp for The House of Arsalan Iqbal, and the stunning Ayesha Omer graced the runway for Faiza Rehman. Hira Mani showstopped for Karismash by Ahson Shoaib, while the gorgeous Mawra Hocane and Ameer Gilani walked for Tabya Official. The debutant Kashee had an array of artists walking down the ramp for the brand’s first showcase including Sana Fakhar, Fizza Ali, Shaista Lodhi, Sahiba, Alizeh Shah and Urwa Hocane. The very charming Aijaz Aslam walked the ramp for J., Umsha by Uzma Babar brought Pakistan television’s most followed and loved artists Imran Ashraf and Yumna Zaidi to close the show for her.

Pantene Hum Bridal Couture Week Powered By Telenor returns To Lahore As The First Major Fashion Week Post Covid-19

The 18th edition of the country’s biggest and most sought-after bridal extravaganza, Pantene HUM Bridal Couture Week (PHBCW) unveiled its red carpet here in the City of Gardens on February 4, 2021. Organized under the banner of Pakistan’s numero uno entertainment network HUM Network Limited launched in 2010, the huge format event is the most opulent and highest profile bridal show in Pakistan. It leads the bridal fashion industry with its creative influence and has been strategically repositioning Pakistani bridal fashion in the global fashion economy for the last ten years. The event showcases latest trends and designs in bridal couture by leading as well as emerging fashion designers of the country. It has become the most aspired presentation for Pakistan’s top designers, couture lovers, influential individuals, buyers, celebrities, socialites, and legacy brands. This year, with Pantene as its title sponsor, PHBCW will be showcasing 35 designers on the runway.

Show one of the bridal extravaganza kicked off with a special hair show by Pantene where the brand unveiled their new bottle. Models sashayed down the ramp showing off their shiny, bouncy, healthy hair adding more glamour to the Pantene Bridal Couture Week with their more open hair days campaign. Film actor and brand ambassador of Pantene Maya Ali also walked the ramp. Fahad Hussayn presented an avant-garde collection of custom made woven Banarsi bridal dresses with Sao Banjara – The Couture Edit, followed by Uniworth Dress Co.’s groom collection The Luxe Edit celebrating the brands 25th Anniversary. Next, Nauman & Bhaiya debuted with their bright lehngas and cholis in hues of scarlet with their collection Gurya, followed by Alishba and Nabeel’s Sakhiyaan, an ode to the bridesmaids who bring life, joy, colour and lifelong memories to the weddings. Next in line was Naushad Imdad’s Subh e Nau (The Way Forward) inspired by Pak-western culture, using hand paint art and hand embroidery together in menswear for the first time in Pakistan followed by Haris Shakeel with his collection Ghazal which drew its inspiration from the colours of poetry. Madeeha Shoaib was next with her signature collection ‘The Enchanted Island’ inspired by marine life, encapsulating the true essence of haute couture. The day came to end with Munib Nawaz’s

collection Sakal Ban which paid tribute to Ameer Khusro’s famous poem Sakal Ban. The collection reinvented the moments of love and loss from the famous poem into creations that celebrated love, joy and all things passionate. The collection presented love, joy and passion in the words of Amir Khusro.

MadeehaShoaib believes in reviving traditional embroidery craftsmanship by introducing contemporary aesthetics and techniques.
