Shahrukh ki Saaliyan a light-hearted, eccentric rom-com of 7th Sky Entertainment, directed by Mazhar Moin, featured the handsome Ahsan Khan and the talented Ramsha Khan as Shahrukh and Anoushay in an unconventional way. The maestro with the witty writing, Dr. Younis Butt, had plotted this romantic comedy in an exceptionally humorous way that garnered the audience’s love.
The drama had been the talk of the town ever since its first episode went on air. As the title suggests, the show had some situational comedy around Shahrukh’s sisters-in-law (Saaliyan). The drama had an ensemble star cast – a staple of 7th Sky Entertainment including big names like Rehan Sheikh, Javed Sheikh, and Hina Khawaja Bayat to rising stars like Aruba Mirza, Nimra Shahid, Raza Zaidi, and Faiza Ali.
The story revolved around Shahrukh and Anoushay, who love each other. Still, their marriage keeps on delaying because of Shahrukh’s sisters-in-law, who are to get married first as per Anoushay’s father’s wish, since they are elder than Anousahy. The drama from the beginning brings lots of comic twists and turns that surely tickle the funny bones in everyone. Finally, in the last episode, Shahrukh gets married to Anoushay, but unconventionally and amusingly. Kudos to the fantastic Dr. Younis Butt, who has given another successful rom-com on the credit of ace producers Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi, after Romeo Weds Heer.
The drama had all the colorful vibes with a peppy Punjabi OST, from interesting storyline to hilarious dialogues, from star-studded cast to exceptional screenplay, the show had all the elements of a chartbuster. The lead pair portrayed terrific on-screen chemistry. Ahsan Khan is already an award-winning actor and has nailed his performance in this witty role. Ramsha Khan has also done justice to the character of Anoushay; her expressions and dialogues delivery were also on point. The other supporting characters were equally amusing and furnished commendable performances.
Dramas like Shahrukh ki Saaliyan are a comic relief that provide the much-needed break from the everyday tensions. Though the show has come to its end, we need more rom-com like this to add to our daily watch list, and we are looking forward to 7th Sky Entertainment bringing some more amazing content on our TV screens.
Actors on screen, especially when portraying young characters ‘in love’ are in a constant battle. The enthusiasm of young love has to be depicted without going over-the-top in their mannerisms. It’s a hard balance to strike, but when two actors find it together, it feels like a fairy-tale.
Going by the 1st look of their upcoming drama Pyar Ke Sadqay, Yumna Zaidi, and Bilal Abbas Khan are on to something special. This is their 1st drama together; however, by the looks of it, they have fitted right into their quirky roles.
The recently released two promos tell a story of young love. Yumna Zaidi, as Mahjabeen is swooning over her love. It seems as if she is living in a dream and, by extension, is clumsy in reality. Missing her dance steps, tipping him over while trying to show affection, and then fretting over his response, its playful yet not cartoonish in any way. Goofy but not icky.
While Bilal Abbas Khan as Abdullah is fully rejoicing and perhaps even playing on this attention. The mischievous look he gives at the end reflects a fair bit about what kind of character this will be. There is certainly more to him than meets the eyes. Without these hints, this could have been just another romantic play. However, Bilal’s character offers intrigue, which has certainly caught our attention.
Together, they shine on the screen. Is her dream too good to be true? Is he a naturally shy boy who is easily offended, or is he a tad bit cunning? Will the geeky and inelegant ways to show warmth push him away?
Some might feel a little bit of empathy towards Mahjabeen, especially given one of Abdullah’s reaction. Others might see their own relationship reflecting in this upcoming drama.
It will be interesting to see where this story leads us. How pliable Mahjabeen is, and how long will Abdullah enjoy this spell over her. Where they find the equilibrium of their relationship is something that will keep us all glued to the screens.
Bilal comes into this role after his critically acclaimed role in Cheekh while Yumna with Ishq Zahe Naseeb also impresses everyone. However, their characters in Pyar Ke Sadqay are quite off-beat.
Mahjabeen’s cheesy character is vital, but Abdullah would perhaps be the one taking the story forward. Will this journey of self-discovery be smooth, or do we expect some hiccups?
The 1st look has revealed just enough to get us hooked. Can we get more of the same, please?
Abdullah belongs to the city of gardens ‘Lahore’ and is currently studying. He has been interested in music since his childhood days and used to sing in school and college events. Abdullah started his music career by his first cover song “Yaadoun ka jahan” which became a massive hit and earned him a huge fan following. It is a social commentary about how the practice of dowry is an evil that continues to pollute our society from within.
Zubab lives and breathes the character of Zeba with perfection. She is an innocent girl who gets married but gets entangled in the quicksand of dowry and how it ruins her life. Apart from all the joys that girls bring into this world, turns out they can also add some precious years to their father’s life, says a new study. According to this study, dads with daughters tend to live longer than those who do not have any daughter.
Since it’s mostly mothers we talk about when it comes to childbirth, this research was conducted to find out how father’s health and body was affected when a kid is born. The study was conducted by Jagiellonian University, for which data from over 4,310 people was collected, which included 2,147 mothers and 2,163 fathers.
It was found that sons did not have any kind of effect on their fathers. However, it was discovered that the number of daughters was linked to paternal longevity.
The study further claimed that the more daughters they have, the longer they live. To be precise, 74 weeks more for each daughter born. This is great news for all the dads, but not for mothers.
This was because, according to another study published in the American Journal of Human Biology, both sons as well as daughters have a negative impact on a mother’s health and reduces her lifespan. Another study revealed that women who stay single for longer are happier.
A different study found that having a child regardless of the gender increases the lifespan of both the parents. The data for this study was collected for over 14 years and it was found that couple with kids live longer as compared to the ones who don’t have any kids.

Every year, we see a lot of surprising performances by newcomers who eventually become our favorites. Pakistan’s first musical drama Meray Dost Meray Yaar is heading towards its conclusion. The seven-episode web series revolves around four friends and former bandmates Syra Shehroz (Zoya), Asim Azhar (Zain), Haroon Shahid (Sherry), and Hamzah Tariq Jamil (Mohib). It’s their bittersweet journey about friendship, tribulation, and reunion. With digital platforms, viewers have become clearer on what they want to watch. It gives them a big sigh of relief from the typical content.
The relatable genre and fresh approach made every episode a delight to watch. It proved to be a complete entertainment package. It’s filled with music, humor, color, energy, romance, and pep. As we all know, in Pakistan, pop music is a big deal for everybody. For people here, they rejoice and enjoy. (MDMY) was able to capture that very essence.
Analyzing the performances, the web series had superb performances by all the cast members; but it was the debutant Hamzah Tariq Jamil who stood out with his powerful act. Normally newcomers opt for projects that follow tried and tested formulas. But this wasn’t the case with Hamzah; his effortlessness was both engaging and euphoric and hardly gave us a sense of his debut act.
He played the struggling musician to perfection and managed to impress viewers with his acting chops and confidence, proving that he is here to stay. He owned every scene like a pro, and the level of comfort he showed in portraying different shades of his character with relative ease was commendable. His on-screen energy was infectious, and Hamza is surely a bright new addition to our industry; it would be interesting to see what the talented newcomer brings next to the table for us.
7th Sky Entertainment’s brilliant play ‘Mere Mohsin’ finally concluded on a happy note last night, leaving viewers content and quite happy with the cheerful turn of events in the intense family drama. The story, written by Nadia Akhtar and directed by Ali Faizan, mainly centered around two individuals belonging to entirely different social setups who tied the knot when they were head over heels in love with each other.
A story very close to our hearts, Mere Mohsin had become a household drama for most drama viewers because of its ordinary yet relatable storyline. The writer, through this family story, tried to portray various ground realities of our society, one of them being how a middle-class man is burdened with family responsibilities and biased expectations from the society.
The last episode was mainly a reunion of Soha and Mohsin’s families. It was all about how after a lengthy and strenuous struggle, Soha and Mohsin finally managed to conquer the hearts of each other’s families who had turned bitter and adverse after their socially mismatched marriage.
Mohsin invited Soha’s parents over for a dinner at their place where Soha’s father offered him to take over his business and property but Mohsin, being a true family man, chose to stay over with his mother and sister and Soha backed her in his decision. The best part of the episode was Khurshid Begum’s acceptance of Soha as her daughter in law.
Mere Mohsin, through an everyday story, depicted that life is not a bed of roses and it throws various obstacles and hurdles your way but if you try to stay patient and determined, things finally get better if not sooner than later. If Mohsin and Soha hadn’t remained steadfast and determined in the difficult phase of their life, they would have been separated by now and wouldn’t be able to witness the happy days that fate had in store for them.
All in all, the drama was very emotional as it showed how after a long and heart-wrenching struggle, Soha and Mohsin with their sheer determination and unwavering love succeeded in sorting out the grievances of their family members while also keeping them all together and united.
Undoubtedly, Syed Jibran and Rabab Hashim have pulled off an amazing and natural onscreen chemistry, leaving viewers amazed and wanting to see more of the couple together. The supporting cast members Fazila Qazi, Marium Nafees, and Erum Akhtar among others also gave out the best of their performances, making Mere Mohsin one of the best dramas by Asad Qureshi and Abdullah Kadwani to date.
