Meherposh OST: Sahir Ali Bagga delivers a soulful track yet again!
There is no doubt about the fact that Pakistani Dramas are loved and watched all around the world. Not just the script, directions, and actors play a vital role; one should never underestimate the presence of a melodious OST. Many at times, a good OST not just acts as a force to attract viewers but pulls out emotions too. 7th Sky Entertainment’s latest endeavor ‘Meherposh’ has been having a steady run at the prime time; moreover, its OST has become a massive favorite among the audience. Starring Danish Taimoor and Ayeza Khan in lead roles, the play is written by Misbah Nosheen, directed by Mazhar Moin and produced by Abdullah Kadwani & Asad Qureshi.
The King of tragedy Sahir Ali Bagga carries out this heartfelt number beautifully that has sadness all over it. He scores a hat-trick yet again as the track is written, composed and sung by him. His rendition is truly the kind that is for a heart which is in pain and that’s something which turns out to be the hallmark of the song. It starts slowly and gradually picks up the pace.
The song has a strong masculine tone to it, both in terms of vocals and the intense composition. His effortless vocals are well backed up by a heavy male chorus in the background that changes tempo and enables the listener to feel the true depth of the words. Melodious and rhythmic, it has an unusual edge to it. There is a certain pain in Bagga’s voice which complements the situation that the lead pair find themselves around love, courage, agony and forgiveness in the play, and that works. It gives the right feel to the serial when it plays as the background score during the scenes. So if you are a fan of soulful numbers then this one’s totally for you.

‘Tere Saath’- a ballad of love and heartbreak
Abdullah Qureshi is back with another superb single, which is sure to become your favorite song of this season. The single titled ‘Tere Saath’ is Qureshi’s first collaboration with renowned music producer Eahab Akhtar. The song has been sung and penned by both the artists while Akhtar has composed and produced the music.
The song was recorded over two days after Qureshi got a call from Akhtar to give a listen to the new track that he had made. Things came together from that point on, and here we are with a beautiful composition that is fun, quirky, sad, and impactful at the same time.
The song comes as a breather of fresh air in the current times when everyone is confined to their houses because of the global pandemic. The song, written in English and Urdu, is a fusion of contemporary and pop music. It’s a happy-sad song, something that hasn’t been done before.
The song is about a lover asking his beloved the age-old question that people usually ask in love, “How could you do this to me?” The lover reminisces about the dreams he had for them, but they could never be fulfilled. He says there isn’t anything left to be said between the two of them and that things happen in life. According to him, the world is full of liars. That is why he wants to speak the truth because he isn’t like others. All of that is said through an upbeat melody that is sure to get you grooving.
The overall feel of the song is very western but retains its flavor and soul with the use of simple yet powerful lyrics in Urdu. The arrangement of the song is equally unique with the use of instruments such as guitar, drums, and techno beats that transform you into a musical world.

‘Darr Khuda Say’ Exceeded our Expectations From The Beginning Till End
Darr Khuda Say, produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi, under 7th Sky Entertainment, is a drama that will give you goosebumps from the start to the end. On the small screen, it attempted something different and delivered a powerful social message. The leading stars of the drama are Sana Javed as Afreen and Imran Abbas as Shahwaiz.
The theme of the drama revolves around workplace harassment and proceeds to take off on a journey of what goes through the life of a woman who suffers this, and the kind of strength it takes to fight back everything.
Afreen belongs to a middle-class family, and when her brothers turn away from their responsibilities, she steps in to become the son of the house, taking care of her parents.
Unfortunately, Afreen gets hired in an office under a womanizer boss who has no limits, no guilt, and no conscience. Shahwaiz, who is married to Gul only for her money, pretends to love her as she has given him the status he fancies the most. When he sets his eyes upon Afreen, he uses his power to do everything to get a hold of her and blackmails her with photoshopped pictures.
Shahwaiz’s character, played by Imran Abbas, is highly complex, many times portraying the traits of a psychologically imbalanced person.
The drama’s plot thickens with each passing episode showing the struggles of Afreen as she falls deeper and deeper into the pit that Shahwaiz created for her with the help of Kashif. Everyone surrounding Afreen mistreats her, and she is left alone with her faith in God, leaving her matters with him.
The best part about the entire series of Darr Khuda Say is Afreen’s constant character. She is soft, humble, and secure from episode 1, and she stays this way till the last episode. One after another, problems fall upon her. Shahwaiz ruins her, she is insulted by her family, and she loses her love interest, but she remains strong, leaving her matters to the one above.
As the drama comes to an end, we see how it all wraps up with the title “be afraid of God.” One more fascinating thing about its ending was how each character of the drama got the fruits of their deed.
Azhar and Shehla realize their mistake when they lose their unborn child and further learn that they can never become parents. Tamkeen was always a big-mouthed and selfish girl, but two unsuccessful marriages make her a better person. Afreen’s eldest sister in law did everything for a better life but returns as a widower. Shahwaiz commits suicide in jail because he cannot bear the humiliation caused at the hands of a woman.
As for Afreen, the finale gave her the happy ending we all were rooting for since episode one. This strong-headed and humble girl, who faced harsh calamities one after another, finally finds a man who loves her for who she is.
Darr Khuda Say was a fantastic drama that taught us to be strong in the face of hardships, and leave your matters to the one above.

Abdullah Muzaffar’s ‘Tere Bajon’ is a masterpiece!
This romantic ballad is sung in a soulful voice, ‘Tere Bajon’ really helps us catch a break from the high-paced, fast summer jams, the mellow and soulful approach in this song is what makes it stand out. The lyrics are not empty. Instead, they have a powerful and meaningful message hidden behind. The song is kind of a story a lover is narrating to his loved one, and with Abdullah Muzaffar’s soulful voice, we can’t help but feel the love and pain in his voice.
‘Tere Bajon’ is authentic in the best ways. Abdullah Muzaffar sings honestly, and while the music is easy-going, the lyrics show its real meaning. Abdullah croons- ‘Main bhul gayi sari sajna, we dunya dari sajna, main sajde jaake rab dun, bus tera sath hi mangna’- the lyrics are like a love confession, backed with the firm yet soft vocals, and beautiful guitar riffs that make you bob your head along to the music.
Making his way through an extremely competitive industry environment in the country, the young artist Abdullah Muzaffar is in a league of his own. Having dropped his new single ‘Tere Bajon’ some weeks ago, we won’t be exaggerating to say that it has not only made it to our playlists, but has been continuously on repeat!
With few years of released music under their belts, Abdullah Muzaffar seems to have already established a consistent sound and feel to his music that is not a sound that we often get to hear, which is extremely impressive. The pop-rock feel matched with extremely relatable and reachable lyrics makes him stand out. Abdullah Muzaffar with his new song ‘Tere Bajon’, reminds us that being simple and keeping it real sometimes really works, particularly in terms of music.

Valentine’s Day tricks and tips for 2020
- Quality Time Together
QUALITY TIME TOGETHER IS THE MOST IMPORTANT GIFT YOU CAN GIVE ONE ANOTHER ON THIS VERY SPECIAL DAY, OR ANY OTHER DAY FOR THAT MATTER! Need we say more?! - Start the Day Special and End the Day Special!
Make this Valentine’s Day one you’ll both cherish and remember from the start of the day until your head hits the pillow that night. You’re both worth it! - Shower them with flowers, balloons, stuffed animals, chocolates or candies
How important is it to send flowers? Don’t discount the Power of Flowers, numerous scientific studies have documented the positive emotional effect of flowers! Send flowers to the workplace as you want the recipient to enjoy them all day & you want coworkers to be green with envy. Place your order in advance so your florist has sufficient time to accommodate your request for an early delivery. - It’s the Small Gestures That Count!
They don’t go unnoticed! Offer to help out with the chores; open doors; listen intently when spoken to; pay compliments; take care of a pressing matter that has needed some attention; fix or replace something broken; serve breakfast in bed; take the dog to the groomer; give a massage; draw a bath; have their vehicle serviced. - Plan, Plan, Plan! Put Some Effort into It!
Don’t wait until the last minute to make those dinner reservations and then have to settle for the 2nd choice. Don’t wait to buy your flowers or gifts on the big day to find out his/her special flower or cologne/perfume is sold out. If you want flowers delivered timely to the work place, restaurant or home, place your order in advance. If you have a great idea, act on it…don’t sit on it! If you wait and can’t pull it off then all it is, is an idea…and it’s no longer even a great idea…because you didn’t allow enough time to pull it off. - Write a Love Letter or a Poem or even a Song!
Act like it’s your last days on earth. Tell that special someone what they really mean to you. Put it in your own handwriting rather than typing it out. Put some real thought into it. Men and women both want to be told how special they really are. Something written down can be cherished for many years to come. Consider this…maybe it really is the last time you get to write, so make it count! - Do An Activity You Both Love!
Valentine’s Day is Friday this year! Take the day off and spend it together! Make it a 3 day weekend! Plan a trip for the weekend! Go out of town or maybe you book a room or suite at a local hotel or bed and breakfast! If you stay at home, do some activities TOGETHER! Find something cultural that’s going on around you and go for it! - Surprise them! Everyone loves surprises on special occasions!
Surprise them with a gift selected especially for them! Pick the gift out yourself. Don’t have someone do it for you. Maybe it’s their favorite perfume or cologne or bottle of wine. Maybe it’s jewelry or a trip to the spa. Or maybe you offer to do chores for the week; perhaps a chore they cannot stand to do. - Build It Up! Anticipation is the purest form of pleasure!
Let that special someone know you have big plans, but keep them in suspense! Drop innuendos! Call them at work a few times during the day! Leave “sweet nothing” Post It notes around the house and in the car; or any other place you can think of. IM or email them; or better yet, both! Leave them a voice mail. LET THEM KNOW THEY ARE ON YOUR MIND! - Plan a Special Outing or Create a Romantic Setting at Home
Dress up and go out on the town for dinner and dancing, but be certain to make dinner reservations well in advance. Pick some place new you BOTH have wanted to try! Make it an adventure! Contact your florist or the restaurant hostess and have a bouquet of flowers waiting at your table. Flowers can be delivered in advance of your reservation so they will be awaiting your arrival, but don’t wait until the last minute to order them.

“Shahrukh ki Saaliyan” – A Pure Dose of Comedy comes to an End!
Shahrukh ki Saaliyan a light-hearted, eccentric rom-com of 7th Sky Entertainment, directed by Mazhar Moin, featured the handsome Ahsan Khan and the talented Ramsha Khan as Shahrukh and Anoushay in an unconventional way. The maestro with the witty writing, Dr. Younis Butt, had plotted this romantic comedy in an exceptionally humorous way that garnered the audience’s love.
The drama had been the talk of the town ever since its first episode went on air. As the title suggests, the show had some situational comedy around Shahrukh’s sisters-in-law (Saaliyan). The drama had an ensemble star cast – a staple of 7th Sky Entertainment including big names like Rehan Sheikh, Javed Sheikh, and Hina Khawaja Bayat to rising stars like Aruba Mirza, Nimra Shahid, Raza Zaidi, and Faiza Ali.
The story revolved around Shahrukh and Anoushay, who love each other. Still, their marriage keeps on delaying because of Shahrukh’s sisters-in-law, who are to get married first as per Anoushay’s father’s wish, since they are elder than Anousahy. The drama from the beginning brings lots of comic twists and turns that surely tickle the funny bones in everyone. Finally, in the last episode, Shahrukh gets married to Anoushay, but unconventionally and amusingly. Kudos to the fantastic Dr. Younis Butt, who has given another successful rom-com on the credit of ace producers Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi, after Romeo Weds Heer.
The drama had all the colorful vibes with a peppy Punjabi OST, from interesting storyline to hilarious dialogues, from star-studded cast to exceptional screenplay, the show had all the elements of a chartbuster. The lead pair portrayed terrific on-screen chemistry. Ahsan Khan is already an award-winning actor and has nailed his performance in this witty role. Ramsha Khan has also done justice to the character of Anoushay; her expressions and dialogues delivery were also on point. The other supporting characters were equally amusing and furnished commendable performances.
Dramas like Shahrukh ki Saaliyan are a comic relief that provide the much-needed break from the everyday tensions. Though the show has come to its end, we need more rom-com like this to add to our daily watch list, and we are looking forward to 7th Sky Entertainment bringing some more amazing content on our TV screens.

Bilal Abbas Khan keeps us guessing in Pyar ke Sadqay’s 1st look!
Actors on screen, especially when portraying young characters ‘in love’ are in a constant battle. The enthusiasm of young love has to be depicted without going over-the-top in their mannerisms. It’s a hard balance to strike, but when two actors find it together, it feels like a fairy-tale.
Going by the 1st look of their upcoming drama Pyar Ke Sadqay, Yumna Zaidi, and Bilal Abbas Khan are on to something special. This is their 1st drama together; however, by the looks of it, they have fitted right into their quirky roles.
The recently released two promos tell a story of young love. Yumna Zaidi, as Mahjabeen is swooning over her love. It seems as if she is living in a dream and, by extension, is clumsy in reality. Missing her dance steps, tipping him over while trying to show affection, and then fretting over his response, its playful yet not cartoonish in any way. Goofy but not icky.
While Bilal Abbas Khan as Abdullah is fully rejoicing and perhaps even playing on this attention. The mischievous look he gives at the end reflects a fair bit about what kind of character this will be. There is certainly more to him than meets the eyes. Without these hints, this could have been just another romantic play. However, Bilal’s character offers intrigue, which has certainly caught our attention.
Together, they shine on the screen. Is her dream too good to be true? Is he a naturally shy boy who is easily offended, or is he a tad bit cunning? Will the geeky and inelegant ways to show warmth push him away?
Some might feel a little bit of empathy towards Mahjabeen, especially given one of Abdullah’s reaction. Others might see their own relationship reflecting in this upcoming drama.
It will be interesting to see where this story leads us. How pliable Mahjabeen is, and how long will Abdullah enjoy this spell over her. Where they find the equilibrium of their relationship is something that will keep us all glued to the screens.
Bilal comes into this role after his critically acclaimed role in Cheekh while Yumna with Ishq Zahe Naseeb also impresses everyone. However, their characters in Pyar Ke Sadqay are quite off-beat.
Mahjabeen’s cheesy character is vital, but Abdullah would perhaps be the one taking the story forward. Will this journey of self-discovery be smooth, or do we expect some hiccups?
The 1st look has revealed just enough to get us hooked. Can we get more of the same, please?
